11 Essentials For Disneyland Visit With Kids

Taking the kids to Disneyland? It’s an experience like no other, filled with excitement and potential hiccups.

With our 8-year-old, Olivia, and our spirited 2-year-old, Liam, we’ve faced every challenge imaginable.

Bryan and I have learned that packing right can make or break the day.

Forgetting essentials can lead to meltdowns, but with the right gear, everyone stays happy. From sunscreen to snacks, we’ve got our packing list down to a science.

Here’s our ultimate guide to ensure your Disneyland trip is smooth, fun, and full of magical memories.

Backpack

When heading to Disneyland with kids, a dependable backpack is essential. It keeps your hands free and all your must-haves within easy reach.

I got the MOMINSIDE DIAPER BAG sometime back and it is perfect to carry around literally anywhere!

It had enough space to adjust Liam and Olivia’s alternate clothings (because let’s face it, accidents happen a little too often with kids), along with all the other Disneyland specials. The best part, the bag never got too heavy!

Stroller

If you’re at Disneyland with young kids, a trusty stroller is a lifesaver! You’ll be doing a lot of walking and little legs tire out quickly.

Our KOLCRAFT TODDLER STROLLER was a game changer. Liam got a place to nap, whereas Olivia used the stroller as a resting ground when she needed a break.

It doubled as a storage space for our backpacks and souvenirs. Navigating the park was so much more fun with the stroller as it saved us from carrying tired and cranky kids around.

Snack Box

Our SNACK BOX FOR KIDS with 8 compartments was a total game-changer for a day at Disneyland. Trust me, keeping Liv and Liam fueled up is the key to a successful trip.

I made sure to pack separate snack boxes for both my young ones, because both my minis have totally distinct taste buds.

Having a variety of snacks at the ready meant we could handle hunger pangs without standing in long lines or spending a fortune. Plus, it saved us from those inevitable “I’m hungry!” complaints every hour.

Water Bottle

For Livvy and little Liam, cold water is the only thirst quencher. That means that I have to carry an insulating water bottle with me every time we go out.

Our OWALA FREE SIP WATER BOTTLE kept the water cold while we walked around to explore as much area of Disneyland as we could. And the bottle having a straw meant I did not have to assist Liam in drinking water!

We got our bottle filled at every free water and ice station, and our bottle did the job of keeping the water cold.

Portable Charger

A portable charger is an absolute lifesaver at Disneyland, especially when you have kids. With all the photo-taking and game-playing when waiting in lines, our phones run out of battery fast.

I remember one time when Olivia wanted to meet her favorite character, and I realized my phone was about to die just as we were next in line. Thankfully, we had our INIU PORTABLE CHARGER. I quickly plugged in my iphone, and we captured every magical moment without a hitch.

Portable Neck Fan

Oh My God, Am I glad I packed this magical device directly from heaven!?

The only downside of Disneyland is their outdoor setting. Trust me, it gets very intense under the scorching heat of California.

And my kids? I love them but I don’t want to be around them when they are hot. It’s Crank City with them!

I brought four TURBO NECK FANS with me. It kept my minions cool and avoided all the complaints. Plus, they were lightweight and very easy to carry.

Hats

Picking out hats to avoid sunlight in style was my favorite job.

I got a JAN & JUL COTTON FLOON SUNHAT for Liam. He loved it because of its whale print, and I loved it because he looked so cute running around in his little hat.

Livvy on the other hand is growing up to be very choosy. She went through 50+ hats and then got herself a PONYFLO PONYTAIL HAT in white.

Me and Bryan? Well, Liam and Liv suggested that we should get MOM & DAD hats, so we did!

Air Tag

An AirTag is an essential gadget for a trip to Disneyland with kids. With the crowds and excitement, it’s easy to get separated. We usually put an AirTag in Olivia’s and Liam’s pockets. Knowing we could track their location with our phones is incredibly reassuring.

I remember one busy afternoon when Olivia wandered off to look at a balloon cart, and we lost sight of her for a moment. Thanks to the APPLE AIRTAG, we quickly found her without any panic.

It’s just a small device but it makes a big difference in keeping the family safe and together during the trip.

Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a must for a day at Disneyland, protecting our eyes from the bright California sun. Well, honestly, this isn’t the only reason. They add so much to your outfit and style!

We each had a pair, and they made a huge difference in keeping us comfortable and squint-free.

Olivia and Liam picked out fun, colorful sunglasses, while Bryan and I opted for SOJOS RETRO AVIATOR SUNGLASSES. They looked so classy and chic – all while protecting us against the sun rays!

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is an absolute must for a Disneyland trip. With all that time spent outdoors, protecting everyone’s skin is crucial.

We used the AVEENO KIDS CONTINUOUS PROTECTION SUNSCREEN for Olivia and Liam. It’s perfect for their sensitive skin and stays put even through water rides and sweaty fun.

For Bryan and me, the RAIN OR SHINE Face Sunscreen SPF 50 was our go-to. It’s lightweight and non-greasy, keeping us protected without any fuss.

We applied sunscreens liberally and frequently, ensuring that our magical day did not leave us any sunburns.

First Aid Kit

Accidents are not a surprise with kids, and it’s best to be prepared. Our first aid kit included band-aids, antiseptic wipes, and some kid-friendly pain relief.

I remember when Liam scraped his knee while running to see Mickey Mouse. Having the first aid kit handy meant we could quickly clean and bandage the scrape, and he was back to having fun in no time.

It gives us peace of mind knowing we could handle any minor mishaps on the spot, keeping our day running smoothly.

Wrap Up!

Disneyland with kids can be a breeze with the right essentials. From sunscreen to snacks, we’ve covered it all.

If we can conquer the parks with our little ones, so can you!

Pack smart, stay prepared, and enjoy every magical moment. Here’s to an unforgettable Disney adventure!
